Ms. Linda Luna

Ms. Linda Luna joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2024.

Linda Chin Luna served in public education for 37 years. Her most recent appointment as the Superintendent of the Washington Unified School District (WUSD) in West Sacramento was between July 1, 2015 – January 1, 2021. Prior to her appointment in West Sacramento, Linda served as the Superintendent for five years in the Millbrae School District.

Since retirement from public education in 2021, Linda has volunteered her skills and experiences as the President and Chief Executive Officer of a long-standing arts organization in its transformation to a more relevant and accessible arts organization for the present and future.

Linda is best known for her passion and leadership in the work of equitable access and social justice for all children. Leading through the lens of equity is her legacy at all levels of the organization from policies and systemic changes with the Board of Trustees, administration and management, the classroom and service to families and community.

Linda has received honor and recognition for her leadership in education. She was awarded the 2020 Regional Superintendent of the Year by the California Latino School Administrators (CALSA), 2020 Business Person of the Year by the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, 2019 Women’s Leadership Award from the Central Valley Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and 2018 Regional Innovative Leader from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA).

Linda has received certification in the Masters of Governance through CSBA, the CSBA Equity Network for Superintendents and Governing Boards, the Cambrian Group for strategic planning, trained in the Transformative Justice in Education, and is part of the Executive Leadership Center for CALSA. She received her master’s degree from CSU, Sacramento in Educational Leadership and her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific.

Linda and her husband, Fernando, celebrate 42 years of marriage and have two children and two grandchildren.
