Dr. David Buck joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2024.

Dr. Buck has been a superintendent, assistant superintendent (curriculum and instruction as well as human resources), high school principal and secondary teacher for 3 decades. He currently serves as the superintendent of the 6th largest school district in the state of Missouri at Lee’s Summit R-7. A native of Missouri, he began his administrative career in 2002.

In addition to service in public education and at McPherson & Jacobson, Dr. Buck has served on the state board for M.U.S.I.C. which provides insurance to nearly all Missouri K-12 and Junior Colleges in the state. He serves on the Governing Board of AASA, the school superintendents association in the nation as well as the board of the National Center for Education Research and Technology. He serves on a variety of local and state boards and committees throughout his career focusing on all aspects of education. He is past president of the Show Me Curriculum Administrators Association for the state of Missouri. He is the 3rd Missourian to receive a National Superintendent Certification. He has worked as a teacher and administrator at the Missouri Scholars Academy for 7 years and 12 years as a facilitator for the Missouri’s Leadership Academy. In total, he has served on 16 statewide committees and given over 150 state, regional and national presentations.

Dr. Buck has a B.S. in Secondary Education (Biology/Chemistry) from Southeast Missouri State University; a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri – Columbia; an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis; and a Doctorate from Missouri Baptist University (thesis on school finance). His wife and family reside on a hobby farm on the outskirts of Kansas City, Mo.
