Dr. Paul Gausman joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2007.
He is the superintendent of schools for the Lincoln Public Schools in Nebraska. Renowned for its long-standing legacy of educational excellence, Lincoln Public Schools is a dramatically growing school district that offers a unique combination of rigorous academic standards and achievement and family-friendly surroundings. Dr. Gausman has direct oversight of the educational process for more than 42,000 students and the work of 8,000 staff members in more than 70 student attendance centers.
Dr. Gausman was formerly the superintendent of schools for the Sioux City Schools in Iowa and was the 2014 Iowa Superintendent of the Year. He also served as superintendent of the West Central School District in South Dakota, and his past administrative experiences also include those as Coordinator of Middle School Education and Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts for the Sioux Falls Schools in South Dakota. Paul’s teaching experiences include those as Director of Bands and at Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and Marching Percussion Instructor for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Cornhusker Marching Band.
Paul holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, an Education Specialist degree from the University of Sioux Falls, a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is affiliated with many professional organizations in public school administration, education, leadership, and the arts.
