Dr. Ralph P. Ferrie joined McPherson and Jacobson in the fall of 2018.

He served in the role of Superintendent of Schools in the Sewanhaka Central High School District in Floral Park, New York for eight years and retired in June 2019 after 44 years in public education.  Prior to his work in Sewanhaka, he served as Superintendent of Schools in the Three Village Central School District on Long Island and in the Monroe Township Public School District and the Absecon City School District in New Jersey.  During his nineteen years as Superintendent of Schools in the New York metropolitan area, he guided Monroe Township through the time following 9/11 and the Sewanhaka Central High School District through the devastating outcomes of Superstorm Sandy.  While in Monroe, Dr. Ferrie guided the District and community through three referendums in which a new elementary school and high school were built under his leadership.  In Sewanhaka, he successfully passed the District’s only building referendum that included renovations to all five high schools, three additions and upgraded athletic facilities throughout the District.

Prior to serving as Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ferrie served as a middle school principal in several school districts in New Jersey and taught graduate level courses at Seton Hall University, Rutgers University, Fairleigh Dickenson University, the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, and Georgian Court University.  Dr. Ferrie has a Baccalaureate Degree from Bloomsburg University, a Master of Education Degree from Monmouth University and he earned his Ed.D. from Seton Hall University in Educational Administration.

Dr. Ferrie worked on successful searches in Long Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.  He served as the lead consultant in several of these searches.
