Dr. David Barker joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2010.
Dr. Barker began his educational career as a mathematics teacher and coach at Garden County High School in Oshkosh, NE in 1996. After seven years in the classroom, he became secondary principal at Garden County, NE. Dr. Barker was hired superintendent of Platte County School District #2 in Guernsey, WY in 2006. After nine years in Guernsey, he was the superintendent of Fremont County School District #1 in Lander, WY, retiring in 2023. Dr. Barker recently joined the faculty at the University of South Dakota where he is an Assistant Professor of Practice.
Dr. Barker has a Baccalaureate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska – Kearney, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Wyoming.
Some of the more recent superintendent searches Dr. Barker has participated in are Park County School District 6, Fremont County School District 1, and Sublette County School District #1 in Wyoming; Teton School District 401 in Idaho; and West Yellowstone School District in Montana. He also assisted Sioux Central Community School District in their Secondary Principal Search.
