Dr. Derrick Joel

Dr. Derrick Joel joined McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. in 2017.

Dr. Joel is currently Assistant Superintendent of Norris School District in Firth, Nebraska. He has served as Superintendent of Fort Dodge Community Schools in 2021-2022, and Superintendent of Raymond Central Public Schools in Nebraska from 2017 – 2021. Prior to becoming a superintendent, Dr. Joel served as the High School Principal at North Polk High School in Alleman, Iowa and Assistant Principal at Ankeny High School in Ankeny, Iowa. He began his career at Tri County Public Schools in DeWitt, Nebraska as a Social Studies Teacher and Coach.

Dr. Joel earned his Ed.D at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. His M.A. was earned through Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and he is a graduate of Doane College for his B.A.
